Providing customers a good battery backup has always been a priority for bigger mobile phone brands. Apple seems to be working on this for so long. In this vying, it has recently introduced the concept of Mag Safe in the iPhone 12. An accessory providing some extra battery backup and completely robust enough to increase iphone 12 battery life.
MagSafe is actually a proprietary technology, launched by Apple back in 2006 for Mac Book pro. It is a magnetic power connector technology as its original version. The basic mindset behind this idea was to avoid any damage to the laptop and power socket. For precedent by any tripping over the power cable. Apple’s last product with MagSafe, the Mac Book Air 2017, discontinued last year. Apple did not divulge the exact reason behind it, but they did receive complaints about which were:
- Adapter’s Insulation.
- Overheating.

Although Apple has also introduced smart battery cases for some of its previous generation phones, its design has been the same. This new concept introduced by Parker Ortolani gives us imagination about MagSafe.
Magsafe
Mag Safe provides a 15w of power for all iPhone 12 variants. Although it is not compatible with the 20w of power providing fast charging from a USB-cable, still two times faster than a normal 7.5w Qi charging, despite having concerns about Mag Safe power backup causing overheating issues in iPhone, it is going to be powerful enough for you to stay connected with your iPhone if the magnet used is accordant to something like a fast charger.
The iPhone 12 contains a ring of 18 rectangular magnets shaped located underneath a charging coil in each device.
Magnets are going to pull the power cord closer it’s self when bringing near to the iPhone.

This technology is going to give a boost to the usage of apple products. They are also planning to bring in this technology for apple watches. This describes only one thing that is the Company’s intent to remove the charging port from upcoming phones. Apple wants its users to live a life free of wires and ports as wireless earphones are already a hit in the market.
